Towards an accelerated ecological transition

ZAC Rouget-de-Lisle, Vitry-sur-Seine, France

4338 m2 SDP

  • 59 housing units and 8 revisited townhouses
  • basement level for parking

The project is composed of two plots with a housing building in each and a strip of revised townhouses. It is located in the middle of the landscape formed by the Eco-connectors of the Rouget-de-Lisle ZAC.
The landscape forms a lively environment around the buildings of which the edges were shaped in connection with this nature. The first building is completely covered in multicolored wood while the other, white and bright as a quartz rock, shows natural screen-printed patterns all over the balconies.
The naturally illuminated horizontal circulations are addressed as lively corridors. And the roofs are acclimatized social gathering spaces equipped with a kitchen and an orchard dotted with planters around it.
A colourful garden facing south where a sculpture by Julien Berthier is located, surrounds the townhouses creating a sober and lively atmosphere.
